The CME Training session in Da Nang was a huge success, filled with energy and excitement! Midwives had the chance to engage in hands-on training with tools like MVA and IUD models, deepening their understanding of high-quality reproductive health products.

Especially, they also had the opportunity to update their knowledge on reproductive health and practice counseling skills based on real case studies led by Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hien.

From November 30th to December 2nd, DKT Mekong (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos) partnered with the Vietnam Association of Midwives (VAM) to host a specialized Continuing Medical Education (CME) training on MVA and IUD insertion/removal techniques. Exclusively for VAM, this highly valued program brought together 25 midwives nationwide and was officially approved by the Ministry of Health (MoH), with participants earning MoH – endorsed CME certification.

Over 3 days, the program combined theory with hands-on practice, enhancing participants’ skills with DKT’s ETC products: IpasMVA and newCHOICECopperIUD

This is an exclusive program for VAM, a unique initiative that has been highly praised by healthcare experts.

Successful Collaboration Between DKT MEKONG – Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Hùng Vương Hospital: Advancing Expertise in Sexual and Reproductive Health

On November 28, 2024, hashtag#DKTMekong had the privilege of partnering with Hung Vuong Hospital to organize a seminar aimed at enhancing expertise in Sexual and Reproductive Health.

🌟 The event brought together 95 healthcare professionals, including OB-GYN doctors and midwives, to highlight the critical role of contraceptive methods in preventing unintended pregnancies and to explore options for pregnancy termination when necessary.

During the seminar, attendees gained valuable insights into DKT’s effective contraceptive products, such as the hashtag#newChoice contraceptive Pill—a high-quality, safe, and affordable option that meets the diverse needs of women.

The seminar featured in-depth presentations from Dr. Lý Thanh Xuân, MD Specialty Level II – Head of the Family Planning Department at Hung Vuong Hospital, and was chaired by Dr. Huỳnh Xuân Nghiêm, MD Specialty Level II – Deputy Director of Hung Vuong Hospital.

In celebration of World AIDS Day (1/12) and the National Action Month for HIV/AIDS Prevention, DKT MEKONG – Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos proudly participated in the “Live Fully” Festival held on 30/11 in Ho Chi Minh City, hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City HIV/AIDS Association. With over 3,000 young participants joining both onsite and online, this event marked a powerful moment to raise awareness, inspire action, and work towards the shared goal of ending the HIV epidemic by 2030.

At DKT MEKONG – Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, we are driven by a profound mission to ensure information, education and resources are available so everyone can make an informed decision about their SRH and lives.

As the demand for provider-controlled SRH methods and safe abortion services rises in Vietnam, it has become increasingly important to ensure healthcare providers (HCPs) are equipped with the necessary skills to deliver the best possible care. Recognizing this need, DKT Mekong joined hands with the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology (NHOG) to organize a Continuing Medical Education (CME) training program on November 28th and 29th in Hanoi.

This program focused on building proficiency in MVA techniques and IUD insertion/removal, bringing together 50 healthcare providers from NHOG and neighboring provinces. Approved by the MoH, this training ensures that participants who successfully complete the program will receive official CME certification endorsed by hashtag#MoH.

With a curriculum spanning two days, the program offered both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice to develop confidence and skills with:

🌟 Ipas MVA: A portable, hand-held device for uterine evacuation, miscarriage management, post-abortion care, and endometrial biopsy registered in over 100 countries (including USA, UK, Japan, Australia, EU) and used for the past 40+ years.
🌟 newCHOICE Copper IUD: A long-acting, reversible, non-hormonal contraceptive solution providing peace of mind with reduced side effects and low-maintanence for up to 10 years.

The training was led by esteemed medical experts and included interactive activities to help participants gain practical experience in a controlled setting.

Beyond education, DKT Mekong showcased our dedication to healthcare providers by offering product samples to enhance their learning and clinical practice.
