DKT Mekong Brings Modern Reproductive Health Knowledge to Women in Son Dong
Continuing its journey of community impact, DKT Mekong has once again demonstrated its commitment to public health through a meaningful initiative in Son Dong commune—bringing modern reproductive and sexual health knowledge closer to local women in a way that is practical, accessible, and empowering.
Recently, DKT International, Inc., together with its strategic partner Golden Choice Co., Ltd. (collectively known as DKT Mekong), collaborated with Vietnam Health Magazine, the local Women’s Union, and the Son Dong Labor Union to organize the program “Reproductive and Sexual Health for Community Women.” This initiative is part of a broader series of humanitarian activities aimed at improving awareness and quality of life for women across Vietnam.

The event welcomed representatives from the Vietnam Association of Traditional Medicine, Vietnam Health Magazine, and local authorities, attracting a large number of women eager to learn, engage, and discuss practical health concerns.
The program began with emotional artistic performances celebrating the vital role of women in both family and society—setting a warm and respectful tone for the day. During the event, the organizing committee also presented flowers and heartfelt appreciation to the DKT Mekong office, recognizing its decades-long contribution to providing high-quality reproductive health solutions to Vietnamese women.
Representing DKT Mekong, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Regional Program & Partnership Manager, expressed her honor in contributing to community-focused initiatives. She emphasized that recognition from local communities serves as a powerful motivation for DKT Mekong to continue its mission of improving awareness and access to reproductive healthcare.
A key highlight of the program was the expert session led by Dr. Ngo Thi Thu Yen, who delivered insightful yet approachable guidance on reproductive health care. Her engaging communication style helped participants better understand essential topics, particularly the importance of modern contraceptive methods.
According to Dr. Yen, proactive reproductive health care empowers women to protect their bodies and confidently plan their lives. Among the available options, combined oral contraceptive pills are widely chosen due to their safety and high effectiveness.
Beyond contraception, these pills offer multiple benefits:
- Hormonal regulation, supporting a stable menstrual cycle
- Reduced premenstrual symptoms, improving overall well-being
- Long-term health protection, lowering risks of ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, and uterine fibroids
Importantly, modern contraceptive methods also enable women to plan childbirth timing, helping them better balance career, family, and personal aspirations.

Scientific Crossword Challenge
The program continued with an interactive highlight—“Scientific Crossword Challenge”—which brought a fun and engaging twist to the learning experience. Keywords such as “SAFETY” and “HEALTH” were revealed, sparking excitement and participation. Practical gifts from DKT Mekong were also distributed, adding to the overall sense of appreciation and connection.
By integrating knowledge into interactive activities, the program successfully transformed complex medical information into content that is easy to understand and remember. More importantly, it strengthened the connection between experts, organizations, and the local community—ensuring that health messages are delivered in a natural and sustainable way.
The Son Dong initiative once again highlights DKT Mekong’s long-term commitment to improving reproductive health awareness. Beyond providing safe, effective, and affordable solutions in family planning and safe abortion, the organization continues to invest in community education as a foundation for lasting impact.
Through programs like this, DKT Mekong is steadily expanding its outreach—empowering women with the knowledge, confidence, and autonomy to take control of their health, and contributing to the development of a healthier, more informed society.
