As the demand for provider-controlled SRH methods and safe abortion services rises in Vietnam, it has become increasingly important to ensure healthcare providers (HCPs) are equipped with the necessary skills to deliver the best possible care. Recognizing this need, DKT Mekong joined hands with the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology (NHOG) to organize a Continuing Medical Education (CME) training program on November 28th and 29th in Hanoi.

This program focused on building proficiency in MVA techniques and IUD insertion/removal, bringing together 50 healthcare providers from NHOG and neighboring provinces. Approved by the MoH, this training ensures that participants who successfully complete the program will receive official CME certification endorsed by hashtag#MoH.

With a curriculum spanning two days, the program offered both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice to develop confidence and skills with:

🌟 Ipas MVA: A portable, hand-held device for uterine evacuation, miscarriage management, post-abortion care, and endometrial biopsy registered in over 100 countries (including USA, UK, Japan, Australia, EU) and used for the past 40+ years.
🌟 newCHOICE Copper IUD: A long-acting, reversible, non-hormonal contraceptive solution providing peace of mind with reduced side effects and low-maintanence for up to 10 years.

The training was led by esteemed medical experts and included interactive activities to help participants gain practical experience in a controlled setting.

Beyond education, DKT Mekong showcased our dedication to healthcare providers by offering product samples to enhance their learning and clinical practice. Additionally, and to ensure HCPs have the full basket of SRH products, participants also received samples of other popular DKT brands: hashtag#Fiesta and hashtag#OK condoms, and hashtag#newChoice Oral Contraceptive Pills (OCs) and Emergency Contraception (EC).

On October 15, 2024, we are thrilled to contribute to the Vietnam-France OBGYN Conference in Hanoi. The event was organized by the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology with the collaboration with the French College of Gynecologists and Obstetricians (CNGOF), this prestigious event will bring together over 1,000 OBGYN doctors in person, with an additional 1,500 joining virtually from across the country. With the presence of the Ministry of Health, midwives, OBGYN associations from around the globe, and national OBGYN hospitals, this annual event underscores its significance in advancing healthcare standards.

To warmly welcome new members to our growing team, we recently held an exciting Orientation Day on Sep 30 and Oct 1 at our new Ho Chi Minh office. This special event provided newcomers from our hashtag#Vietnam, hashtag#Cambodia and hashtag#Laos operations with a deeper understanding of DKT vibrant and unique company culture, and goals.

The day kicked off with an inspiring session led by our Regional Director, Mr. Rodrigo Portugues. He shared DKT Mekong’s vision and emphasized our collective purpose: “Same vision, same goal. Subsequently, Ms. Kendy Tran, our HR and Admin Manager, provided insights into DKT Mekong’s inclusive culture, employee benefits, and support systems, ensuring that every team member is valued and empowered to thrive in their new role.

Ms. Thanh Nguyen, our Regional Social Marketing Director, shared DKT Mekong’s dynamic marketing efforts and upcoming activities to educate and inform users and healthcare professionals. This was followed by an engaging session by Ms. Quynh-Chi Ha, our Regional Distribution Director, who emphasized new ways to increase product accessibility and availability for all.

Through a series of practical training, including visits to pharmacies, we gained a real-world perspective on improving access to hashtag#contraceptive products. The technical insights continued with Ms. Yinn Mar Phoo, our hashtag#SRH Technical Advisor, who guided us through detailed product training, ensuring everyone was confident in adopting and promoting life-changing behaviours.

📕 The day wrapped up with crucial operational, financial, and legal training led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and Ms. Dam Thi Hao, ensuring new team members have the knowledge they need for smooth, successful work.
